Orlando Lands Mega Plastics Show

NPE, one of the largest tradeshows in the country with more than 50,000 attendees, will meet in Orlando for the first time in 2012 and 2015. Founded in 1946, NPE has been meeting at Chicago’s McCormick Place every three years since 1971. Obviously, this is a big win for Orlando.

Not only is this an outstanding opportunity for the destination, but a strong validation of Orlando’s value and service proposition for meetings and conventions. Show management conducted a thorough and systematic review of all possible cities and venues that could host a show of this magnitude including Atlanta, Chicago, Houston and Las Vegas. Each of these cities have their unique strengths that provide quality meetings experiences.

But in the end, Orlando topped the list for its world-class convention facility, range of hotel accommodations, restaurant options, entertainment experiences, accessibility, and its demonstrated ability to provide consistent high-quality service and professionalism.

Bringing this tradeshow to Orlando was a true team effort between the Orlando CVB, the Orange County Convention Center, as well as local hospitality and community leaders.
